My aol email rejected with MAC OSX Mail software, why?

It says:
This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered

The sender address xxxxxxx@aol.com was rejected by the server.
?!
I followed everything the instructions on AOL said, Connection Doctor said there isn’t any problem. Suggestions?
{It’s when I try to send an email. Sorry, I didn’t specify.}
the xxxxxxx is just to not tell you my email, duh.
and the ingoing outgoing servers seem to be right. i’ll check again

    Its most likely you have the address wrong. Its not the @aol.com that is the problem, but the xxxxxxx before the @aol.com that is wrong.

    What is your outgoing mail server set at? You are probably using the incorrect outgoing mail server. Many ISP’s require that you use their outgoing SMTP server and no others to try to cut back on people setting up spam servers. Also the outgoing server may require authentication, you will need to use the email address and password provided by your ISP email account for authentication during sending.
