Is “MySpace” a good marketing tool for a Photogrepher?


Is the website My space a good marketing tool for a photographer and if so advise on how to utilize it as such.

    I don’t think it is. You should create your own website and publish it to the web; then it will appear in google (and yahoo, etc) searches when people type in “photographer” and such words. I don’t visit MySpace AT ALL, and I’m sure a lot of people out there don’t either. So I think you should try another way of advertising your services!

    Do you want to put yourself out there as a photographer to be hired? If so, using myspace can’t hurt, though i don’t think you’ll get much business (they do have a section for networking). If you want to post your photographs for people to view and possibly purchase allows you to do this, but for a small fee. You would probably be best setting up your own website either way (possibly using myspace, or similar websites where people browse around, to advertise your site)

    For band photography it is great. Almost any up and coming band uses MySpace, so it couldn’t do anything but help.
